An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Kulgam district’s Gudar forest of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning. The gunfight erupted after security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Gudar forest area after receiving information about the presence of terrorists.
“Based on specific intelligence input by JKP, joint search operation was launched by Indian Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police, CRPF Srinagar in Guddar forest of Kulgam. Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire during which one terrorist has been eliminated and a junior commissioned officer suffered injuries” wrote Chinar Corps on X. The post further mentioned that the operation is still underway.
