New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday sealed the National Herald office under the Congress party putting forth instructions that the premises are not to be opened without prior permission from the probing agency.

This move by the ED comes after a close source reveals that the ED in its raid on Tuesday recovered incriminating documents in connection to the money laundering in National Herald Case. As per sources, the statements of some National Herald employees were recorded. Moreover, digital devices were also seized. It is also learnt that the probing agency has beefed up security outside the AICC HQs in the national capital to prevent protests from breaking out over the announcements.

The raid according to officials was carried out under the criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to “gather additional evidence with regard to the trail of funds and they are against those entities who were involved in the National Herald-linked transactions”.

Earlier in the day, Sonia Gandhi led party MPs’ protests and entered the Well of the House in Lok Sabha against ED actions and the Modi government.
