NEW DELHI: The ED on Tuesday questioned and recorded statements of Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in connection to the Liquor policy scam for which he was arrested on Sunday last week. He is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
ED also questioned former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia’s personal assistant Devender Sharma in connection with alleged corruption in formulating and implementing of the now-scrapped excise policy for 2021-22, officials said. Sharma alias Rinku was summoned to the CBI headquarters where he was questioned by officials of the anti-corruption branch since morning, they said.
Earlier on Monday, the federal agency arrested Hyderabad-based liquor businessman Arun Ramachandran Pillai. A court on Tuesday sent Pillai to remand until March 13th.
Meanwhile, the President accept accepted the resignation submitted by Manish Sisodia and Satyender Jain on the advice of the state CM. The Home Ministry issued a notice putting the order effective immediately. Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj are appointed as the ministers in Delhi Cabinet.
