Delhi: In connection with a money laundering case, the remand of excise officer Arunpati Tripathi and hotelier Trilok Singh Dhillon has been extended by a Delhi court. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested both individuals, and at the end of their four-day remand, they were presented before Special Judge Ajay Singh Rajput in the afternoon.
During the court proceedings, the ED requested a two-day remand for Dhillon and a three-day remand for Tripathi to facilitate further questioning. Additionally, the ED provided information in court regarding the assets seized from the accused individuals.
Advocate Rahul Tyagi and Faizal Rizvi, representing businessman Anwar Dhebar, raised allegations during the court hearing. They claimed that the land seized by the ED in Nava Raipur belonged to relatives and that Hotel Wellington Kot was constructed on ancestral land, with the construction work commencing in 2017.
Enforcement Department (ED) reported that there are 119 immovable assets that have been found upon investigation. The price of the properties is estimated to be around 122 crores, out of which 69 crores belong to Anwar, and the remaining 32 crores belong to Arun Pati Tripathi.
