Elections can be held in Jammu and Kashmir in 5 to 7 phases. Election Commission officials had a meeting with the officials there to conduct elections in the Union Territory. The Central Election Commission had visited Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. The Election Commission team had visited the Union Territory between 8 and 10 August, after which it went to Haryana. The team had met with Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, in which the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir was reviewed from him.
