New Delhi: India recorded 20,409 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,39,79,730. The recovery rate at 98.48 per cent accounted for 22,697 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,33,09,484. The daily positivity rate stood at 5.12 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 1,43,988 accounting for 0.33 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 2,335 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 32 new fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,258.
With the administration of 38,63,960 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 203.60 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the health ministry data updated of Friday, COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.88 Cr (3,88,69,424) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. 8,45,53,901 precautionary doses have been administered so far.
