New Delhi: The Domestic LPG cylinder on Wednesday became dearer by Rs 50 following a price hike by the national oil marketing companies. The third revision effective from July 6th is bound to compound the misery of households grappling with runaway inflation and rising prices of various commodities and daily essentials.
The 14 kg domestic LPG in the national capital would now cost Rs 1053. Whereas the price in Mumbai has been increased to Rs 1052.50.
It is worth noting that there has been a decline in the price of commercial gas cylinders in the country. On July 1, a major reduction of Rs 198 was made by the oil companies. And now on July 6, the price of commercial LPG cylinders is again reduced by them.
Usually, the LPG cylinder prices are revised on the 1st and 15th of every month by the OMCs. The government has been increasing the rates of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders for some time now and has been criticised by the opposition parties.
