New Delhi: India reported 46,148 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. This took the cumulative count of infections to 2,99,27,331; the Union Health Ministry. Meanwhile, Over 32 crore vaccine administered since the drive commenced in January.
The recovery rate at 96.80 percent accounted for 58,578 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 2,93,09,607. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.94%, less than 5% for 21 consecutive days.
The number of active cases has reduced to 57,29,94 accounting for 1.89 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 13,409 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.31 per cent reported 979 deaths, taking the cumulative death toll to 3,96,730.
Vaccine administered all over India above 32 crore till the drive started in January 2021, 91 lakh vaccine doses in the last one week after a new policy was brought into force. “This milestone vaccination figure outnumbers the population of many countries like Canada, Malaysia & Saudi Arabia,” a tweet by the Health Ministry read. Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week expressed satisfaction over the increasing pace of the vaccination drive, an official statement said.
