Following the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash in Baramati, the investigation has now shifted to the company that owned the plane. Investigative agencies from Delhi to Mumbai have been activated. Eyewitnesses still recall the horrific scene of the eight-seater plane crashing to the ground during its second landing attempt. The layers of this high-profile accident are slowly beginning to unravel. The aircraft’s maintenance and operating company are now at the center of the investigation.
VSR Ventures to undergo special audit
Given the severity of the accident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken a stricter view. The DGCA has ordered a special audit of the charter company, VSR Ventures Pvt Ltd, which owned the Learjet 45 aircraft. The investigation team will determine whether any major negligence occurred in the aircraft’s maintenance.
The DGCA has set a deadline for this audit. The audit team must submit its detailed report by February 15, 2026. The main focus of the investigation will be on flight operations and adherence to safety standards. If violations are found, the company is sure to face action.
