Demise of Veteran Bhajan Singer Narendra Chanchal: Several Music Personalities Express Condolences

Narendra Chanchal, the famous Bhajan singer, has passed away on January 22 at the age of 80, after suffering from age-related issues. He was popular for his Bhajans and religious songs. Reportedly, the iconic Bhajan singer breathed his last at Apollo Hospital in Delhi at around 12 PM on Friday. 

The deceased singer’s concert organizer Sanjay Malik revealed to the media persons – “His health hadn’t been well for some time now. He had been admitted to the Apollo Hospital for two months. He had fallen quite weak. He breathed his last today”.

Apart from being well-known for his songs like “Beshaq Mandir Masjid Todo” from Bobby and “Chalo Bulava Aaya Hai” from Avatar, Chanchal became immensely popular for his amazing performances at live events throughout his career. Noteworthily, the singer was awarded as the Best Male Singer in the Filmfare Award, for his song in Dimple Kapadia-Rishi Kapoor starrer Bobby.

A host of personalities from the music industry has expressed their condolences on the veteran singer’s demise. Punjabi singer Daler Mehendi has taken to his Twitter handle, to post a picture of Chanchal Ji, captioning it – “Deeply saddened to learn that iconic and most loved #NarendraChanchal Ji has left us for the heavenly abode. In prayers for his soul to rest in peace. Heartfelt condolences to his family and legions of fans”.

Another iconic singer Master Saleem has also tweeted his condolences with a selfie that he took with the late singer, both smiling at the camera. His caption was very brief, which read – “Alvida Narender Chanchal Ji” (sobbing emoticon).

Singer Jaspreet ‘Jazim’ Sharma, in his Instagram handle, has shared a picture of the deceased singer, expressing his condolences through a few words, that read – “Rest in peace #narendrachanchal Sahab. You will be always alive for your contribution in music. May the departed soul rest in peace”.
