New Delhi: The Delhi police launch a lookout for a retired Intelligence Bureau officer, who is accused of a teen allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in the Karol Bagh area on Monday.
“We sent the girl for a medical examination and questioned her family. They said they have known the accused for some time. We went to his place but he had left his home. He has switched off his phone and is absconding. We have his details and have sent out teams to arrest him,” a senior police officer said on Wednesday.
The accused is identified as a 60-year-old accused, who was posted at a sub-inspector level with IB knew the girl’s family and so offered help. The preliminary investigation reveals the heinous act was executed at a hotel in Karol Bagh where she was called on the pretext of a job. Following the incident, the victim lodged a complaint at the Karol Bagh Police station after being coerced by the family. A case under the POSCO Act and several other sections of rape are filed against the officer.
Further details are awaited as the probe is underway.
