New Delhi: As the nation prepares for the celebration of Independence Day on Tuesday, Delhi is taking important steps to ensure smooth traffic flow. Ahead of the celebrations, the Delhi Police has released a traffic advisory specifically highlighting arrangements for the dress rehearsal scheduled on Sunday, August 13th. Through their social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Delhi Traffic Police has urged commuters to follow the advisory and be mindful of road restrictions during time slots.

During the dress rehearsal on Sunday, some major roads surrounding the Red Fort will be closed to access from 4 am to 11 am. These roads include ones like Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, S.P Mukherjee Marg, and Chandni Chowk Road, among others. The aim is to ensure an uninterrupted rehearsal.

According to details mentioned in the advisory, motorists who do not have designated parking labels for this event are advised to avoid areas such as C Hexagon, India Gate, and its connecting streets.

Commuters traveling between north and south Delhi are recommended to take routes like Aurobindo Marg and Safdarjung Road in order to bypass any traffic congestion caused by these adjustments. Similarly, those traveling from east to west can consider alternatives such as NH 24, Nizamuddin Khatta, or Mathura Road.

Furthermore, the Old Iron Bridge and Geeta Colony Bridge will not be accessible. It is important for residents of Delhi and tourists to plan their travel in advance and take into account the suggested routes to avoid any inconvenience during this national celebration.
