Delhi HC Directs AAP-Government to Reply on the Petition Over Implementation of Health Bill 2019

New Delhi: The High Court of Delhi on Wednesday asked the Arvind Kejriwal-led government to file its reply on the petition seeking direction to ensure the immediate implementation of the Health Bill 2019 of the Government of Delhi or the Clinical Establishment Act 2010.

The plea claims urgent implementation of the AAP Government Health Bill alleging that unauthorized pathological laboratories were being operated in the national capital without any checks and balances.

The plea was filed by the consumer rights activist Bejon Kumar Misra through advocates Shashak Deo Sudhi, Bijendra P Kumar, and Dinesh Dakoria. Kumar Mishra has contended that the operation of illegal and unauthorized labs will endanger the lives of the common people.

“The High Court in its order dated November 20, 2018, had directed the respondents to take appropriate action in terms of direction and guidelines issued by the Supreme court. However, the respondent has not taken any serious step towards containing those illegal and unauthorized pathological laboratories and diagnostic centers and the vulnerable citizens are still falling prey to the fake and false reports leading to serious health repercussions including death in many cases”, the plea stated.

It was also mentioned in the plea that some medical practitioners were running a racket of giving fake Covid-19 testing reports, who have been arrested by the police.
