New Delhi: India recorded 3,615 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.72 per cent accounted for 4,972 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,40,09,525. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.12 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 40,979 accounting for 0.90 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 1,379 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 22 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,584.

With the administration of 13,87,533 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 217.96 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The central ministry quotes to have provided than 203.30 crore (2,03,30,10,225) vaccine doses to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 2.76 Cr (2,76,84,670) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, it added.

In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 3,23,293 infected samples. So far, 89.44 crore tests have been conducted.
