After reports emerged that the Mumbai police are unable to trace podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia as his phone remained switched off, he posted a statement on X on Saturday night claiming he and his team were cooperating with the police and other authorities. “I will follow due process and be available to all agencies,” he stated.
He apologised once again, saying his remark about parents was insensitive and disrespectful, adding, “It is my moral responsibility to do better and I am genuinely sorry.”
He spoke about receiving death threats from people who wanted to “kill” him and “hurt” his family. “I’m watching death threats pour in from people saying that they want to kill me and hurt my family. People have invaded my mother’s clinic posing as patients. I’m feeling scared and I don’t know what to do,” Allahbadia posted on social media platforms X and Instagram.
The podcaster had also failed to appear before the police in Mumbai on Friday after a second summons was issued to him over “vulgar” jokes in the show. Following this, two teams of the Khar police and the Assam Police reached Allahabadia’s Versova residence. After the teams found his house locked, the police pasted a notice outside asking him to appear before them at the earliest.
Former WWE wrestler Saurav Gurjar, also known as Sanga, has warned podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, who is at the centre of controversy over his remarks on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. In a video posted on X, Gurjar has suggested that Ranveer should not be forgiven for his remarks and has urged authorities to take strict action against him.
