New Delhi: India recorded 861 fresh infections in the past 24 hours taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,30,36,132. The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 929 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,25,03,383. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.32 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 11,058 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 74 in the last 24 hours.

However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.21 per cent reported only 6 virus-related fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,691.

India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 185.74 Cr with the administration of 2.44 lakh in the past 24 hours.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March 2022. So far, more than 2.22 Cr (2,22,67,519) adolescents have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The Precautionary dose program that began on 10th April, saw around 9,674 administrations on the first day. Overall, 2,43,43,020 doses of the COVID 19 have been administered so far.
