COVID Updates: India Records 29,398 New Cases, Lowest case in Delhi Since September 1

New Delhi: India recorded 29,398 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, which pushed the overall tally of the country to 97,96,770. The death toll in India has mounted to 1,42,186, with 414 new fatalities. The COVID-19 case fatality rate in India is 1.45% right now.

The number of active cases in the country stands at 3,63,749, as per the data shown by the Union Health Ministry, with which the number of active cases remains below 4 lakh for the fifth consecutive day. Besides, India has discharged 37,528 patients in the last one day, taking the total number of recovery cases to 92,90,834.

Mizoram has reported 14 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. The total number of cases in the state I 4,008, whereas the number of recovered people stands at 3,800. There are 202 active cases in the state right now, and the death count till now is 6.

Assam has reported 146 new cases, with which the tally has reached 2,14,165. The death toll in the state rose to 998, following the death of a 60-year-old man in Dibrugarh. There are 3,516 active cases.

Bihar reports 595 new COVID-19 cases along with 4 more deaths, while West Bengal reports 2,801 new cases and 46 deaths in the last 24 hours.
