New Delhi: India reported 13,058 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, Union Ministry reported. The recovery rate at 98.14 per cent accounted for 19,470 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,34,58,801. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.11 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 50 consecutive days.

The number of active cases stood at 1,83,118 accounting for 0.54 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 6,576  in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 164 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,52,454.

The worst hit state Maharashtra, has decided to reopen amusement parks from Friday while shops and restaurants will be permitted to stay open beyond 10 pm in fresh easing of Covid curbs. As the concern towards COVID in kids escalates, the national capital has come up with a children-friendly vaccination centre  focused towards kids.

Meanwhile, Kerala continues to record striking surge. In the past 24 hours,  6,676 cases were logged. Amidst the festive season, Bihar issued fresh COVID rules mandating negative RT PCR reports for those coming from other states during Diwali and Chhath festivals.

India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage reached 98.67 crore, the Union Health Ministry reported. Nearly, 87.41 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. As per the statistics recorded by ICMR, nearly 59.31 crore infected samples have been tested cumulatively. In the past 24 hours 11,81,314 infected samples were tested.
