New Delhi: In India, the total coronavirus caseload has surged to 1,00,99,308 with 23,950 fresh cases recorded in the last 24 hours.
The death toll has mounted to 1,46,476, with 333 new deaths recorded freshly. 96,62,697 people have been discharged after getting cured of the ailment, which includes 27,032 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, following Preside Biden, doctor Anthony Fauci from the US has taken a shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, referring to it as a “Symbol” for the US.
Fauci is a well-known infectious disease specialist. 6 health workers and some senior officials accompanied the scientist and they also received the vaccine.
“As a symbol to the rest of the country that I feel extreme confidence in the safety and the efficacy of this vaccine”, stated Fauci, adding – “I want to encourage everyone who has the opportunity to get vaccinated so that we could have a veil of protection over this country, that would end this pandemic”.
He ended up giving a thumbs-up gesture and clapping for his colleagues in an appraising manner. The vaccine-administering event took place in an auditorium at the headquarters of the National Institutes of Health, located at Bethesda, Washington DC.
