Delhi: A jump of almost 45,000 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, India crossed the Novel coronavirus cases with 85.5 lakh mark, government data shows. India also recorded 490 deaths linked to the viral disease in the 24-hour period taking its overall Covid death count to 1,26,611.
On a positive note, India’s active cases have boiled down to almost 50% lower than the September 18 pinnacle of 1,017,754. Currently, the active cases in India stood at 5,09,673 which contributes as 5.96%.
The 45,903 new infections in India were 0.5% higher than yesterday’s. Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 85,53,657. In this period, almost 48,000 people also recovered from the viral disease.
With this, more than 79 lakh people have recovered from COVID-19, and there are now a little over 5 lakh active cases of coronavirus.
Delhi logged the most noteworthy single-day spike of 7,745 new Covid cases, taking its absolute tally of cases to 438,529.
