New Delhi: According to the last 24 hours’ tally in India, ending at 8 AM on Tuesday, a total of 19,556 new cases have been detected, pushing the overall surge in the nation to 1,00,76,054. The number of active cases stands at 2,90,918.

30,376 new recoveries have taken the total number of recovered people to 96,36,300. The death toll has mounted to 1,46,150 in the entire country, with 301 death reports in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra (18,99,352 cases), Karnataka (9,10,241 cases), Andhra Pradesh (8,78,937 cases), Tamil Nadu (8,07,962 cases), and Kerala (7,09,293 cases) continue to remain the top contributor in the overall surge around the country. 

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, on their official website has published the overall percentage of active cases in the nation, along with the recovery percentage and the percentage of the deceased population. The current percentage of active cases is 2.90%, while the recovery and death percentages of the nation stand at 95.65% and 1.45% respectively. 

In the meantime, US President Joe Biden has administered the experimental dosage of the Pfizer vaccine. Biden took to his Twitter handle to share his own snap getting the vaccine; he also assured its safety, urging the Americans to get vaccinated. Vice President Kamala Harris has commented on his tweet, “This is what leadership looks like”.
