New Delhi: India on Sunday recorded 74,767 new Covid-19 cases, taking the count past the 6.6-million mark. With 902 fatalities in 24 hours, India’s loss of life remains at 102,685. Recuperation rate has crossed 84 percent, with over 5.5 million individuals having beaten the contamination.
Today is the 196th day since India implemented a nationwide lockdown, to help curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. So far, India has recorded 66,23,815 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,02,685 deaths.
Active cases currently stand at 9,34,427. About 76,737 recoveries were registered in the country in the last 24 hours. As many as 55,86,703 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far, the Union Health Ministry has said in its latest update.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that 7,99,82,394 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country till yesterday (October 4). Of these, 9,89,860 were tested yesterday.
Total confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the world stand at 3.50 crore, according to the Reuters tracker. This figure includes COVID-19 patients who have recovered and the overall global death toll which stands at 10.33 lakh.
