CoronaVirus: India records its biggest one day surge of more than 57000; tally inches to 17 lakh mark

NEW DELHI: According to the Health Ministry data released on Saturday morning, as many as 57,118 cases were reported in a single day — this is the highest jump recorded so far. With this, India’s tally inches towards 17 lakh mark.

The fatalities have now increased to a total of 764, bringing the deaths due to COVID-19 virus to a number of as many as 36511.

In the gloomy clouds, the surge in recovered people has emerged as the silver lining. Nearly 11 lakh people have recovered from the disease. The number of cured patients surpassed the active COVID-19 patients with over 5 lakh on Friday.

According to Indian Council of Medical Research, the total number of COVID-19 samples tested up to 31st July is 1,93,58,659 including 5,25,689 samples tested yesterday.

Meanwhile, from today midnight Unlock 3.0 is all set to come into effect. The Union home ministry issued the fresh guidelines which stated that there will be no night curfew. Meanwhile, from 5 August outlets such as Yoga institutes, gymnasiums, malls etc can open up but no food courts can be operated, no entertainment theatres can be opened and restaurants to remain closed.

According to the Worldometer data, In the past 24 hours, It was reported record 282,095 new cases worldwide. 1,77,45,592 people around the world have been affected and more than 6,82,196 people died due to the virus.

The United States confirmed over 47 lakh COVID-19 cases and 1,56,747 deaths. Brazil is the worst-hit nation after the US. It reported over 26 lakh COVID-19 cases and more than 90,000 fatalities.
