New Delhi: India has recorded 93,51,109 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,36,200 deaths. A total of 87,59,969 people have recuperated from COVID-19 so far. There are 4,54,940 active cases in the country as of date, which comprises 4.87 percent of the total caseload, the data stated.
The country has recorded 41,322 new cases in the last 24 hours. As many as 485 deaths detected in the country in a single day. 41,452 people discharged in the last 24 hours.
The reported active COVID-19 cases in India stand at 4,54,940, according to the Union Health Ministry.
Maharashtra, Kerala, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh continue to have the highest load of active COVID-19 cases, and account for 70% of the active cases in the country currently, said data released by the Health Ministry on Friday.
Meanwhile, On the status of development for drugs and vaccines for Covid-19, the centre on Friday told the Supreme Court “13 clinical trials of repurposed drugs have been undertaken to build a portfolio of therapeutic options”, and “nearly 30 vaccine candidates encompassing a diverse group of vaccines based on multiple technologies/platforms are under development” in the country “by both academia and industry”.
