Coronavirus: India crosses 32 lakh mark; over 67000 cases in the last 24 hours; death toll approaches 60,000
NEW DELHI: India has recorded 67,151 coronavirus cases in the previous 24 hours, taking its total way past the 3.2 million mark. India’s count currently remains at 3,234,474. With 1,066 fatalities provided details reported on Tuesday, the nation’s death toll is approaching 60,000 – just a notch underneath Mexico’s cost (60,800).
The recovery rate rose to 76.30 percent with 63,173 more people having recuperated in the last 24 hours pushing the total recoveries to 24,67,758, while the case fatality rate has declined to 1.84 percent, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, There are 7,07,267 active cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), comprising 21.87 percent of the total 32,34,474 infections, the ministry data stated.
Five most influenced states by absolute count of cases are: –

- Tamil Nadu (391,303)
- Andhra Pradesh (371,639)

- Uttar Pradesh (197,000)
Delhi recorded 1,544 new Covid-19 cases, taking the count to 1,64,071. In a noteworthy development identified with the coronavirus vaccine, Russia has communicated its ability and willingness to the Indian government for collaboration in the manufacturing of Covid antibody – Sputnik V, a government official said on Tuesday.
