Patna: At Paliganj village over 95 People who attended a wedding have tested positive for the covid-19. The 30 year old groom a software engineer who had symptoms of covid-19 died two days after his wedding.
On June 17, his body was disposed leaving no scope for the authorities to trace futher if the death was due to the coronavirus.
On Paliganj after getting informing about the groom’s death, close relatives of the married couple were tested. On 15 June 15 guests were tested positive.
On June 29 administration started contact tracing, 80 more people tested positive for covid-19 which was the first case ofmass spread of coronavirus in Bihar. The Patna administration was unable to test groom for covid-19 as his family dispose him without informing the authorities.
According to the Patna police sources on 20 May the groom return to his village Deehpali for his wedding. He had symptoms of at the time but still his family went ahead for the wedding.After two days of his weeding , he died on the way to AIIMS, Patna.
After the death of groom the district administration conducted covid-19 tests for all the guest who were attended the wedding 95 of them tested positive and only bride was tested negative.
The administration has stated that they went beyond the lockdown guidelines as the family decided for weeding despite the groom have showing symptoms of covid-19 which comes under the violence of lockdown rules. Administration also added that they were not followed the social distancing rules and only 50 people are allowed to attend any marriage function.
