New Delhi: The case surge of coronavirus affected people has reached 1,04,79,913 in the nationwide tally, with 12,481 freshly detected cases in the last 24 hours, which the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare published on their website in the wee hours of Tuesday. The number of the total currently active across the states remains 2,13,503.
A total of 18,578 people suffering from the viral ailments have been tested negative in the last 24 hours, taking the overall number of recovery to 1,01,10,710. In the last count, 166 patients have been recorded to be deceased, making the overall death toll mount to 1,51,364.
Amidst the pandemic, and the fear of the new highly contagious mutant strain of the virus (firstly found in the UK), Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala continue to hold the top 5 places in the list of the most highly affected Indian states.
