New Delhi: The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the country has reached 1,10,79,094. As per the Union Health Ministry, 12,361 diseased citizens have recovered across the country, accounting for 1,07,61,139 overall recoveries.
With the resurgence prevailing a minimum fatality rate of 1.4% is noted, while the recovery rate stands at 97%. India registered a 1,56,413-active count of the contagious viral disease. The Wuhan-originated novel virus claimed the lives of another 109 in the last 24 hours accounting for a total 1,56,970 deaths.
Maharashtra continues to record a spike in Covid-19 cases, due to which State authorities have cut down the local trains, and employees are now ordered to revert to Work from home. 28 more districts of the state have registered a surge lately.
Health Department data reveals active cases continue to increase in new hotspots in Amaravati, Akola, Buldhana, Yavatmal, Nagpur, Latur, HIngoli, Parbhani, and Nanded. On Friday, the state registered 8,333 fresh cases of coronavirus, which took the city’s active case tally to 67,608.
Directorate General of Civil Aviation has declared a restriction on International flights until 31st of March. They said,” The competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the subject cited above regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hours IST of 31st March 2021.”
However, no ban on international cargo has been levied. Last December, a ban on flights to and from the United Kingdom was levied over the discovery of a mutant strain in the European country.
