Mumbai: The Covid-19 transmission continues to grow. In the latest update by the National Investigation Agency Spokesperson, one Assistant Sub-inspector of NIA has been tested positive for Covid-19. The ASI was deployed in Mumbai and the staff who came in contact with him have been asked to self-quarantine. The prescribed protocols are being strictly followed.
It has been reported after a week when 26 naval officers were tested positive in Mumbai. After which on Wednesday, 53 journalists were reported to be tested positive for the COVID-19.
The number of coronavirus deaths and total positive cases has risen in Dharavi, Mumbai’s jam-packed slum where around eight lakh people live huddled together in shanties. The total of those who contracted the deadly virus in the area crossed the 200-mark. According to the local administration, 6 fresh cases detected on Friday took the total cases to 220.
With 778 new cases and 18 new deaths, the number infected patients in Maharashtra has reached the count of 6,817. It continues to remain the worst hit state and with new cases coming up from different parts of the state, the problem doesn’t seem to end soon.
