Corona Update: Actress Bhumi Pednekar Pauses Her Initiative #PlasmaWarriors after ICMRs latest guidelines

New Delhi: As ICMRs latest guidelines for COVID-19 treatment disregarded convalescent plasma therapy, Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar paused her initiative ‘Plasma Warrior’ until further notice from the Centre. 

 Ever since recovering from the deadly coronavirus around mid-April, the actress is tremendously promoting COVID Aids and amplifying the voices of those in need of help using her social media platform.  Bhumi has also been urging people to donate plasma and help COVID-19 infected patients. The COVID Warrior took to her Instagram handle and announced a pause on her plasma warrior initiative.  She wrote, ‘To comply with government directives we are pausing #plasmawarrior.’ She added, ‘Thank you everyone who came forward and helped someone in need.’ 

Apart from this, the Pati Patni aur Woh fame actress, took up several initiatives to benefit common people during these hard times. 

 Meanwhile, in her next story, she shared the post of Plasma Warrior’s Instagram page, which also gave a brief about the same. The image featured on the post read, “India drops plasma therapy from Covid-19 treatment protocol”. The text further added, “This is not a goodbye. It’s a revamp” 

ICMR-National Task Force for COVID on Friday convened to deliberate upon the effectiveness of plasma therapy, which was in force last year just during the onset of the pandemic. But, in the recent meeting, all members of the task force were in favour of dropping the use of convalescent plasma from the Clinical Guidance for Management of Adult COVID-19 patients citing its ineffectiveness and inappropriate use in several cases.
