Delhi, India: According to the latest report, The Home Ministry has now decided to blacklist around 960 preachers from Indonesia who participated in the Nizamuddin Markaz “Tablighi jamaat” earlier last month. This action was taken in the wake of increasing number of coronavirus positive cases who are linked with this massive event in the capital.

In the tweet, it is said that “960 foreigners have been blacklisted and their Indian visas have also been canceled due to involvement in tablighi jamaat activities on tourist visas.”
“In the case of Tablighi Jamaat, Nizamuddin, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also instructed Delhi Police and Director General of Police of other concerned states to take necessary legal action against 960 foreigners for violating the provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005.” the tweet further stated.

The ministry on Thursday said that over 9000 people linked to this event have been identified and isolated across the country, of which 1306 are of foreign nationals and rest are indians. The gathering had witnessed over 2000 jamaat workers, 250 were foreigners, out of which 1806 have been quarantined. 334 people who were symptomatic have been hospitalized.
