New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare published a report this morning, according to which, a total of 18,453 fresh COVID-19 cases have been recorded nationwide, pushing the overall case surge to 1,04,32,526. Also, in the last 24 hours, 19,242 COVID-19 sufferers have been finally tested negative, while the count has taken the number of recovered people to 1,00,55,935.
On the other hand, 229 deaths since yesterday have made the death toll of India mount to 1,50,835. Contextually, the current number of active cases in the country is 2,21,447.
China’s National Health Commission chief Zheng Zhongwei on Saturday announced that the government of China is ready to provide absolutely free of cost vaccinations to the general people in the country, paying no heed to the manufacturing and transportation costs of the vaccines. Zheng, in a press event in Beijing, announced – “Our people don’t have to pay a single cent for the vaccine”.
Notably, China approved its first vaccine in the last week of December 2020, three of which had a test run amongst limited people, mainly to health workers working at high risk. On Saturday, the government authorities of the country declared – “China will provide COVID-19 vaccines free of charge once they become available to the general public”.
