New Delhi: According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s latest tally that they updated on their website Thursday morning, a total of 15,270 people have been tested positive across the states and UTs in the span of the last 1 day, taking the overall case surge of the nation to 10,611,719. The overall active cases in the country stand at 1,89,245.
Also, in the last 24 hours, a total of 20,071 coronavirus-affected people have been tested negative after isolation and essential treatments, with which the overall number of COVID survivors in India has reached 10,265,163.
On the other hand, the death toll in the country has mounted to 1,52,906, including the 152 patients who died from the viral disease since yesterday. According to the official reports, the only good thing about the death toll in India is that the death rate is significantly low in comparison with the other countries across the world. India’s overall death rate is 1.44%, which is commendable amidst the worldwide pandemic.
Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu remains at the top 5 of the most highly COVID-19 affected Indian states, with respectively 1,997,992 cases, 9,33,578 cases, 8,86,418 cases, 8,64,196 cases, and 8,32,415 cases. The active caseload in Maharashtra stands at 46,769, in Karnataka, it stands at 7,697, in Andhra Pradesh 1,637, while Kerala and Tamil Nadu’s overall active caseloads stand respectively at 69,695 and 5,314.
