Haryana: After the cancellation of the CBSE board exams of Class 10, the Haryana Board also followed the same path. On Thursday, the Haryana Board of Secondary Education (HBSE) announced the cancellation of Class 10 exams and the postponement of Class 12 exams. Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Haryana Board took this big decision.
The Education Minister of Haryana said in a video message, “The kind of decision CBSE has taken, taking that as an example the HBSE Class 10 exams result will be declared after internal assessment and the Class 12 board exams have been postponed”.
The Haryana Board exams for class 10 were scheduled from April 22 to May 15 and the exams for Class 12 were scheduled from April 20 to May 17. The decision will be scrutinized by the Department again in some days and then they will declare their final decision.
Along with Haryana, many other states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Maharashtra also postponed their state board exams due to the massive surge of Covid-19 cases. The students of Class 10 whose exams are canceled will be promoted based on their internal assessment but if the students are not satisfied with the marks, then they can sit for the offline mode of exams, once the condition gets normal.
