New Delhi: The new Congress president will be elected between August 21st and September 20th 2022 says KC Venugopal, the party’s national secretary. He remarked during a press conference following the meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC). KC Venugopal introduced 3 resolutions, on the political situation, inflation and acute agrarian distress and diabolical attack on India’s farmers. “From top to bottom, we’re planning a major training program. Workers and leaders at all levels will be trained in party ideas, policies, and expectations of a Congress worker, as well as grassroots communications, election management, and countering propaganda ” he added.

The 74-year-old leader Sonia Gandhi also pointed out that in the previous two years, a huge number of Congress leaders, particularly the younger ones, have taken on leadership responsibilities in presenting party ideas and programs to the public. In addition, CWC members urged Rahul Gandhi to take over as the party’s president. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot suggested in this regard, which was approved by other Chief Ministers and politicians. “All the members were united that Rahul Gandhi should take over as president of the Congress party,” stated senior Congress leader Ambika Soni.

Meanwhile, Sonia Gandhi stated at the CWC meeting that she is a full-time, hands-on president. Gandhi stated that she has always valued candour and that “There is no need to communicate with me via the media. But what should get communicated outside the 4 walls of this room is the collective decision of the CWC,” she said in her opening remarks at the meeting.
