Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at the Congress, saying the party is completely “cut off from India’s aspirations”. While speaking at the rally in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi said the Congress’ manifesto “completely bears the imprint of the Muslim League”.
PM Modi posted highlights from the event on his social media account.
PM Modi said, “The Congress is completely cut off from the aspirations and expectations of today’s India… The Congress manifesto reflects the same idea which was prevalent in the Muslim League during the freedom movement.”
“The Congress manifesto completely bears the imprint of the Muslim League, and little remaining part of it, is completely dominated by the leftists…Congress is not visible in this,” PM Modi said. His statement came just ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Earlier on Thursday, the Congress released its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Friday, April 5, with its focus on the ‘Paanch Nyay or ’five pillars of justice’. Top leaders of the Congress, including party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and former party presidents Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, will reportedly release the manifesto.
In its manifesto, the Congress emphasized Paanch Nyay, including ‘Yuva Nyay’, ‘Naari Nyay’, ‘Kisaan Nyay’, ‘Shramik Nyay’ and ‘Hissedari Nyay’ as well as the guarantees made by it to the people as part of its election promises for Lok Sabha polls.
