New Delhi: With the winter session of Parliament nearing, Congress’ Parliamentary strategy group will meet on November 25th to be held at the residence of Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi to chalk out a strategy in cornering the government over key issues. Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that inflation will be among the key issues that will be raised by them in the upcoming session of Parliament. “We will raise the issue of inflation in the upcoming session of Parliament. Congress Parliamentary Strategy Group will meet in New Delhi on November 25 to finalize the strategy for the Parliament session,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Central government has called an all-party meeting on Sunday, which is likely to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources said. The floor leaders of all the political parties from both houses of Parliament have been invited to the meeting. Besides PM Modi, senior Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah, along with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, will represent the government at the meeting.
The winter session of Parliament is set to commence on November 29th and it is likely to conclude on December 23rd. The India-China border row, Pegasus snooping controversy, and the recently-withdrawn farm laws are among other issues that are expected to be raised by the opposition in what is likely to be another stormy session. Earlier, Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had said that the Centre will not address the Pegasus issue in Parliament, saying that what is the point of disrupting the House over issues that are “not based on facts”.
