On Wednesday, the Congress party filed a police complaint in connection with certain statements that the Congress claimed were recently made by the leaders of BJP and its affiliate organisations against Rahul Gandhi, who is the leader of the opposition (LoP). He complained with the Tughlaq Road police station where the complaint captured certain remarks by the BJP leaders such as Tarvinder Singh Marwah, R Ravneet Singh Bittu, Raghuraj Singh and one of the BJP MLA of Shiv Sena Sanjay Gaikwad.

The shut-out complaint includes information stating that on September 11, Marwah allegedly threatened Hope Gandhi during a BJP rally. He allegedly said, “Rahul Gandhi baaz aaja, nahi toh aane wale time mein tera bhi wohi haal hoga jo teri dadi ka haal hua,” which translates as “you better behave, or you will meet the same fate as your grandmother. ” Referring to the assassination of Gandhi’s grandmother, former Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, then raises the possibility of inciting.

Also, the complaint refers to Gaikwad declaring ₹11 lakhs bounty to anyone who would remove the tongue of Gandhi. Such statements, Congress says, put Gandhi’s life at risk and also contributed to the creation of a culture of hate and extremism. There was a problem when Bittu gave comments that Gandhi was the number one terrorist in the country, and this provoked people to hatred and stir up trouble.

The Congress party pointed out that such comments prove that the BJP and its affiliates have enormous hatred toward Gandhi. Congress has appealed to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to expel those persons of the BJP alliance who use such abusive language. Kharge further urged that one has to draw legal boundaries in order to stop using such provocative rhetoric that threatens to bring down the quality of political debates in India.
