New Delhi: LPG prices for commercial cylinders were hiked by Rs 250 effective from Friday, 1St April said officials. The domestic LPG rates, however, remained the same.
In the past two months, National Oil Marketing companies have hiked the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder by Rs 346/unit. The last revision came a month ago when the price was hiked by Rs 105 followed by a subtly reduction of Rs 9 on March 22nd.
In response to the rise, restaurants, eateries and tea stalls have been producing heavy bills for customers as they form the major segment of the commercial cylinder users.
Food and Beverage stall owners in Delhi can procure the LPG cylinder at Rs 2,253. In Kolkata, the per-unit prices hiked to Rs 2,351, while the financial capital, home to thousands of multicuisine five start restaurants saw the commercial LPG prices soar to Rs 2,205.
After the assembly elections held in five states, the prices of petrol, diesel, and LPG were being increased almost daily. On March 22, subsidised domestic LPG cylinders increased by Rs 50. Earlier, after 6 October 2021, there was no change in the rate of domestic LPG cylinders.
