The global energy crisis continues to disrupt world supply. Now State owned Oil-Co’s in India have imposed significant increases to the cost of LPG & ATF prices affecting major industries such as hospitality and aviation.

The price of a 19kg LPG cylinder has increased from ₹1883.00 to ₹2078.50, or an increase of over 10%. This is the second increase in price this month, following a previous increase on 07 March 2023 of ₹114.50. As commercial LPG is widely used by hotels, restaurants, and small businesses, this price increase will likely lead to higher cost of operations for these businesses and subsequently higher prices passed on to customers.

Contract domestic LPG price increases occurred during the same timeframe with a previous increase on 05 March 2023 from ₹853.00 to ₹913.00 for a standard 14.2kg cylinder. This is the highest price for domestic LPG since August 2023.

Aviation turbine fuel prices domestic and international have seen an even greater increase. In Delhi for domestic airline carriers the ATF price has increased from ₹96638.14 per kl on 01 March 2023 to ₹207341.22 per kl at present, representing over a 114% increase over this period. Similarly, international ATF prices have increased from $816.91 to $1690.81 per kl during this time period.
