New Delhi: After a sweeping victory in Uttar Pradesh, the choice of cabinet members for the state is now in the news. It is speculated that Yogi Adityanath who retained power would take oath before Holi, no proper information on the date is yet revealed. Yogi Adityanath would chair the last meeting of the current UP cabinet at 5 pm today in capital Lucknow.
It is being said that the swearing-in can take place before Holi, as March 19 is the last date for MLC nomination. According to sources, if there is a consensus, CM Yogi can take the oath of office and secrecy on March 15, i.e., Tuesday. The swearing-in ceremony is likely to be held in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Meanwhile, leaders of Uttarakhand, and Punjab resigned after the defeat in the elections. CM Pushkar Dhami headed the Khatima constituency where BJP posted a convincing win.
CM Channi in Punjab also submitted the resignation at the Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh today after the AAP swept maximum seats in the state. Submitting his resignation, Channi urged the new govt to continue the welfare projects and schemes that were introduced in the last 111 days. AAP candidate Bhagwant Mann will take charge as the CM on March 16 sources in the know said.
