The state government has taken strict steps to control the crowd during the Chardham Yatra. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday instructed the officers in the Secretariat to give permission for Chardham Yatra only as per the registration. In this sequence, strictness has been taken against the devotees traveling without registration and the tour operators doing so.
On Friday, 260 passenger vehicles going to Kedarnath without registration were stopped in Rudraprayag. A case was registered in Uttarkashi against two tour operators from Haridwar in the fake registration case.
Meanwhile, many cases of arriving for darshan through fake registration have also come to light. On Friday, the registration date of 88 passengers traveling in two buses going to Gangotri was found to be wrong. This fraud was revealed during checking at the registration center Heena.
The government is committed to a safe and well-organized Chardham Yatra. Although the initial timing of the Yatra has always been challenging in terms of arrangements, yet arrangements have been made keeping the safety and facilities of the devotees paramount. In this sequence, instructions have been given to allow travel as per registration.
