New Delhi: As the outrage against misogyny against Muslim spread by the Bulli Bai App creator is underway its legal proceedings. Another social platform, Clubhouse is in the limelight. Submitting a notice to the Delhi’s Cyber Crime Branch, the Delhi Commission for Women on 18 January, has sought to launch an FIR against gigs making derogatory remarks against Muslim women on the social audio app.

The notice is regarding a video of the  Clubhouse app which was posted on Twitter, where vulgar and obscene remarks against Muslim women are being promoted. Taking cognizance of the outright attempts to disparage the DCW has instructed the Crime branch to submit a detailed report on the event in five days.

This incident was brought to the notice after the DCW chairperson reported being tagged in a detailed video conversation, which targeted the Muslim girls. She said, “ I feel outraged over the fact that such incidents are going on increasing in the country. Strongest action needs to be taken against the culprits and that’s why I have issued a notice to the Delhi Police seeking immediate FIR and arrests in the matter.”

A rise in abhorrent behaviour of social media users has been noticed in the past few days. An ugly concoction of Anonymity, Misogyny and Communalism has flared up the act of defamation of women belonging to a particular community besides gender bias.
