New Delhi: The Delhi Police Cyber Cell has summoned the 18-year-old man who was arrested from Lucknow in connection to derogatory statements against women being prompted on a social media app called the Clubhouse. He shall be brought in for a detailed interrogation in the evening sources revealed.
According to the Delhi Police, Rahul Kapoor who registered himself as -Bismillah was nabbed by a team of police that was sent to Lucknow. Primary investigations reveal he had built an audio chat room in the clubhouse at the behest of a user named Sallos and handed over the moderator’s key to the Sallos.
“Rahul Kapoor claims that he created an audio chat room on Clubhouse on the instructions of a person, he identified as ‘Sallos’,” Deputy Commissioner of Police KPS Malhotra said. The police have seized Rahul’s mobile phone and have been investigating it.
Earlier, on Thursday the Mumbai Police had arrested three accused acting on the complaint filed by a woman. According to the police, two of the accused – Jaishnav Kakkar (21) and Yash Parashar (22) – were arrested from Faridabad, while the third one, identified as Akash Suyal (19), was nabbed from Karnal. The complaint filed by the lady claimed that the participants of the Clubhouse chats had used objectionable remarks against women. The complaint further mentioned that photographs of hers, as well as those of her friend, were used in the chat room on October 27 and November 27 last year during a discussion about women.
