Kolkata: A day after the West Bengal minister Jakir Hossain was grievously injured in an anonymous bomb attack at Nimtita railway station Murshidabad; the CID took over the probe into the case.

The Minister and his nephew were injured after the crude bombs were hurled at them. 20 others present at the spot also faced injuries. Mr. Hossain is admitted to the trauma care centre in the state-run SSKM hospital in Kolkata. A sigh of relief appeared when the doctors declared the minister out of danger.” Hossain is stable and out of danger but his one hand and leg are injured due to the bomb attack,” Dr. Amiya Kumar Bera, Superintendent Murshidabad Medical College said.

Railways Minister Piyush Goyal and BJP National General. Secretary and Central Observer for WB Kailash Vijavargiya expressed their well wishes to Mr. Hossain on their twitter handles.

Mr Goyal tweeted ”I condemn the dastardly bomb attack at Nimtita Railway Station in West Bengal. My prayers are for the quick recovery of the injured.”

Senior Minister and TMC leader Malay Ghatak, suspected political rivalry as the cause of the attack. While Mosharaf Hossain, an ousted member of the TMC Party said that it could be an internal feud.

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar called the attack “reprehensible” and expressed his concerns over the growing violence in the state. He appealed to CM Mamata Banerjee to take strict actions in lieu of such incidents. Such attacks are conjectured attempts of the ruling parties to overcome their shortcomings ahead of the assembly elections in West Bengal due in April-May this year.
