NEW DELHI: The CBI has registered a fresh case against Manish Sisodia who is already imprisoned in Tihar Jail. The probe agency had alleged Sisodia’s involvement in corruption in Delhi Government’s Feedback Unit (FBU). The FBU was formed by the AAP after coming to power in Delhi in 2015.
The fresh case against Sisodia comes days after Union home ministry approved the CBI request to investigate the “feedback unit” case. The CBI, after its preliminary inquiry, alleged that public money was misused by the Delhi government to run an “extra constitutional, extra judicial intelligence agency”.
” The unlawful manner of creation and working of the Feedback Unit has caused wrongful loss to the government exchequer to the tune of approximate Rs 36 Lakhs,” the CBI claimed.
Reacting to the fresh case AAP Supremo took to Twitter claiming it to be political conspiracy to eextend Sisodia’s judicial custody. “PM’s plan is to slap several false cases against Manish and keep him in custody for a long period. Sad for the country!”- tweeted Kejriwal.
The other accused in the FBU case are the then Secretary Vigilance, IRS officer Sukesh Kumar Jain, retired DIG of CISF Rakesh Kumar Sinha who worked as Special Advisor to the CM and Joint Director, Feedback Unit, former Jt. Deputy Director, IB Pradeep Kumar Punj who worked as Deputy Director, Feedback Unit, then feedback officer and former CISF assistant commandant Satish Khetrapal, and then Advisor Anti-corruption to the CM Gopal Mohan.
Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26th in connection to corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now scrapped Delhi excise policy 2021-22
