Patna: The homes of three senior leaders of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were raided today by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the land-for-jobs case. The leaders of Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD have been accused of irregularities during father Lalu Yadav’s tenure as Railway minister in the UPA-I government.
CBI teams reached the homes of Rajya Sabha MPs Ahmad Ashfaque Karim, ad Dr. Faiyaz Ahmad, and a Member of the Legislative Council in Bihar, Sunil Singh today morning. The raids have been carried out on a day when Nitish Kumar-led government backed by RJD takes a test of majority in the Assembly.
“This is being done intentionally. There is no meaning. They are doing it hoping our MLAs will join them out of fear”, said Mr. Singh after his Patna home was raided.
Meanwhile, several supporters of Sunil Singh gathered outside his residence and protested against the raids. Raids in Bihar were also underway in Bihar, in connection with the alleged land for job scam.
