Patna: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet against RJD leader and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti, and 13 others in an alleged land-for-job scam.
The agency has chargesheeted 16 people including two former senior railway officials and seven candidates who allegedly sold their land to Yadav and his family in lieu of jobs, during his tenure as the railway minister.
“About 1,05,292 sq feet of land / immovable properties in Patna were acquired by the family members of the said minister through five sale deeds and two gift deeds, showing payment made to the seller in cash in most of the land transfers”, said the CBI official.
After conducting a prelimnary inquiry since September 2021, the agency had registered an FIR on the case on May 18 this year. Meanwhile, Lalu Yadav is scheduled to fly to Singapore on October 10 for medical treatment as a Delhi Court had allowed him to travel abroad till October 25.
