NEW DELHI: Both houses of the parliament were adjourned once again as the opposition demanded a probe into the fraud against Adani Group that has triggered a bloodbath at the stock market. While the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 PM, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2:30 PM.
A day after both the houses were adjourned, leaders of opposition parties gathered in the chamber of LoP Mallikarjun Kharge. The parties remain firm on their decision and demand a discussion on the risks to the Indian investors from the plunge in the shares of Adani Group following the Hindenburg Research report.
The houses were adjourned for the first time on Thursday for the same reason. The opposition demanded a probe by a Joint Parliamentary Committee or CJI-designated committee into the Adani scam.
Gautam Adani ports to energy business empire which has SBI and LIC as key investors lost more than $100 billion in value since the charges were made public last week. Adani chief has cited the Hindenburg report as a ‘malicious combination of selective misinformation and stale, baseless and discredited allegations that have been tested and rejected by India’s High courts’.
