Budget ’21 LIVE Updates: Finance Minister Sitharaman Announces Rs. 35,000 Crore for Nationwide Vaccination
New Delhi: The presentation of Union Budget 2021-’22 is being presented in the Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. According to the Finance Minister, the budget of 2021-’22 is dependent on 6 pillars, that are healthcare, rural economy, agriculture, lockdown restrictions, MSMEs sectors impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and infrastructure.
Sitharaman has announced the total budget for healthcare in the country for 2021-’22, which is 2 lakh crores, from which Rs. 35,000 crores will be spent on the nationwide inoculation drive.
The joint session of the Parliament began on Friday. Notably, on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed that Finance Minister Sitharaman had already announced 3 to 4 mini budgets. “The 2021-’22 Budget should be seen as an extension of the same effort”, asserted PM Modi.
Meanwhile, after a contradiction of around 7.7% in the FY 2021-’22, the Economic Survey conducted by the Finance Ministry presents its report. As per the report – “India’s real GDP would record a growth of 11 percent in 2021-’22. The nominal GDP growth has been estimated at 15.4 percent, implying an assumption of 4.4 percent inflation during the year”.
Sitharaman has uplifted hopes through her statement, announcing that the Union Budget for 2021-’22 is going to be “a budget like never before”. Also, Sitharaman’s 3rd budget under the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) led by Narendra Modi is quite unique as it’s entirely paperless, which is notably different from the tradition.
